The Three Rivers’s Educational Technology Conference (TRETC) is the premier educational technology gathering in Western Pennsylvania. This year’s conference will focus on Using Technology to Remake Learning. The two-day event includes a half-day pre-conference that will feature Andrew Slack, the executive director of the Harry Potter Alliance, and a vendor reception. The second day includes a keynote presentation by Richard Cullatta, the Director of the Office of Educational Technology for the Department of Education and three concurrent sessions that include 30 workshops that focus on a variety of emerging trends and issues in teaching and learning.
This year’s conference will spotlight a series of regional educational leaders who have gained national recognition for their work in K-12 education: Justin Aglio and Joe Oliphant from Propel Schools, and Ed McCaveney from the Hampton School District. The November 20 activities will also provide an opportunity for the Sprout Fund to showcase some of the best examples of HIVE and SPARK fund projects. There will also be opportunities for participants to interact with over 30 educational technology vendors, including local startup companies seeking input on their products.
